THE LATEST WATERING HOLE, CIRCA 1800

The latest Strip watering hole happens to be 125 years old. Introducing PJ CLARKE’S, New York City’s most spirited bar and eatery, which recently set-up shop at The Forum Shops, Caesars Palace. This is no “run-of-the-mill-franchise-operation” and its pedigree shows. For example, the main bar, acquired from the Rothschild estate in Bordeaux, is made of solid mahogany and was transported across the country to the tune of $250,000. Even the subway tiles adorning the walls were reclaimed from a variety of demolition sites in and around Manhattan. Perhaps the most important detail of all – the place will not have ‘mixologists,’ but rather, real bartenders – those who “respect what’s been put in the bottle and understand the holiness of a good Rye.” Don’t forget to go up to the wives’ beer window and say, “So, set ‘em up, Joe.”
