Sin City Comedy

Looking for a fun comedy show with a good helping of sexy in the heart of Las Vegas? Sin City Comedy Clubs might just be what you re looking for.  It is the brainchild of Emmy Award-winning comedian John Padon, whose vision was to take two great elements and put them together – seasoned comics and sultry dance – to make for a fun and diverse experience that gives the show a unique edge.

Padon decided from the beginning that he was not going to create another comedy club that features three comics in front of a brick wall, “that’s so 1985”, he exclaimed and knew he had to find a better way. At that time, there were many comics performing in shows where the main attraction was the showgirl – but wanting to break away from that traditional Las Vegas standard, Padon would flip that formula and make it comic-centric, with the girls, appearing in the middle of the show – in effect adding the “sin” in “Sin City.”

Padon has partnered with Kevin Kearney, who was the National Booking Manager of the Catch a Rising Star Comedy club chain for over 20 years. In that span of time, he has booked and assisted in the careers of many famous comedians, including Lewis Black, Ray Romano, and Larry the Cable Guy. Together, Padon and Kearney have created a comedy show that is as diverse as it is entertaining.

The Sin City Dollz as they are known, perform short, “covered” burlesque numbers in-between the stand-up. “It’s like the sorbet to cleanse your palate in between the comedians” says Padon, “and it makes the comics work that much harder.” The end result is a show that is both hilarious and sexy at the same time, making it a true Las Vegas style-show. They feature different comedians each week as seen on Letterman, Leno, HBO, Showtime, and movies and sitcoms. “Our comics are all seasoned professionals with the credentials to prove it,” says Padon. “Being a comedian myself, and Kevin having been a booking agent for over two decades, we know who is funny!”

Sin City Comedy is nearing its fourth anniversary. It has won the coveted “Best of Las Vegas Critic’s Choice Award for Best Comedy Club” in 2010 and 2012. “It’s an honor all the same,” says Padon, “even though we are really more of a show, and not a club.” Today in Las Vegas recommends Sin City Comedy Club for its style and humor, topped with a little bit of spice.

Sin City Comedy appears nightly at 9 p.m., V Theater, inside the Miracle Mile at Planet Hollywood. Tickets are $44.99 and $54.99
