Lombardi’s and The Awesome ’80s Prom

By Valerie Phillips and Sari Fleischer

If you want to experience some fantastic food and an entertaining show, take a trip down to the Miracle Mile in the hip Planet Hollywood Hotel.  My friend Sari and I had the pleasure of eating at the Italian restaurant, Lombardi’s, which is located conveniently across from the V Theater. Lombardi’s has a beautiful and warm ambiance. The service was efficient and the fresh, rustic bread was worth the extra hour in the gym. Sari had the Veal Marsala, which she raved about, as well as the sautéed broccoli. Since I’m trying to eat healthy, I opted for the salmon and sautéed spinach. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the waitress was flexible in accommodating my high maintenance eating habits. Overall, I recommend dining at Lombardi’s. You won’t be disappointed.

If you are a lover of the ’80s, then The Awesome ’80s Prom is the event for you! I personally love ’80s music, so this was right up my alley. The ’80s Prom is a clever and fun interactive show that is filled with a variety of characters from popular ’80s movies.  You have characters such as the Asian foreign exchange student from Sixteen Candles, the typical jock, nerd, and my personal favorite, the burn-out/ bad boy. What girl doesn’t love a bad boy? The premise was fun and cute, and I felt like I was reliving scenes from my 1987 Clark High School prom. This show is meant to be fun and interactive; if you come with that mindset, then you will surely have a gnarly time. So girls, get your crimping iron hot, and boys, your Doc Martin’s shoes shined, you’re in for an ’80s rocking treat.
